Recip Cows

There are several options when it comes to the use of recips cows during your experience with Improving Genetics.

OPTION 1: Use your own recips

Please be sure you select a female that has proven fertility and good milking ability. 

Every recip needs proper nutrition and vaccination before synchronizing them.

OPTION 2: Purchase recip(s)

Improving Genetics offers many healthy, young Brangus type (black) recips for sale year round. All recips in our program have had at least one calf and are on a vaccination program. We only offer calm cattle that are used to people in order for the process to go more smoothly. Please contact Tessa to inquire about pricing and availability.

OPTION 3: Lease program

We offer a small scale weaned calf program available for frozen embryo transfers. The cost is $1,600 per calf (made payable in three payments) plus the transfer fee and any necessary medications. The calf must be weaned prior to 6 months of age.

With our lease program you don’t have to worry about:

- Open recips

- Feeding extra cattle or housing them on your property

- Calving
